For as long as we've had language, we've had crowds that gather in order to be heard.
Huddled over a fire, marching in protest or cheering at a championship game, we are compelled to bond over common causes.
Even with the pace of advancements in personal technology, people want to belong to a group. They want to be one of many voices, knowing that strength often comes in numbers.
Broadnet understands the inherent need to communicate and connect. We know that when an audience is engaged, magic happens. An engaged audience means they feel heard. It means they will act. It's this experience that separates and defines Broadnet from its competitors and served as the catalyst for our company.
In 2004, after leaving Global Crossing to give way to his entrepreneurial spirit, Steve Patterson partnered with Mike Davis, Global Crossing associate, and Brian Brown, programmer extraordinaire, to establish Broadnet under a shared vision – to connect one with many. They focused that vision on bringing voice broadcasting to politics. Told they'd never succeed in Washington, Steve, Mike and Brian were confident their web-based platform was just what the Hill needed. They were right.
Since Broadnet's humble beginnings with its 3 founders using a local bar and grill as their "conference room," our platforms have grown and so has our team. We're now headquartered in a collaborative, technology-meets-casual 7,000 square foot space where our bikes are parked in the hallway and we have a view of downtown Denver and the majestic Rocky Mountains. We also have a satellite office right in the heart of D.C.
And we now know the true power of our platform.
As you're reading this, over a million voices may be in discussions on behalf of our clients. The experience is as powerful for our clients as it is for participants. The participants are expressing their opinions and our clients are listening, finding better ways to serve them.
The unique effectiveness of large audience formats inspired the Broadnet platform we use to deploy products and services to our clients. Regardless of the technology -- from voice broadcasting to video -- our company is built on powerful audience experiences. Our clients are building on them, too. Getting widespread support for a sports team, a cause, an issue or a product requires the inspired momentum of large audiences' voices.
